Home Delivery

The Manchester-by-the-Sea (MBTS) Public Library is offering home delivery to patrons holding valid, active MBTS library cards. This service is to MBTS addresses only.

Priority for Home Delivery services will be given to patrons at high-risk of contracting the virus and/or who have limited means of safely obtaining physical materials from the Library, including (but not limited to) residents who identify as seniors (60+), those who have pre-existing conditions or are otherwise immunocompromised, and families with young children.

  • You may request books, DVDs, audiobooks, and music CDs currently available in the Manchester collection by calling the Library, 978-526-7711 or placing a hold on the materials via the Online Public Access Catalog.
  • Items checked out through Home Delivery have the same loan periods as regular checkouts.
  • Deliveries of available items placed on hold and pick up of items are made weekly. Patrons with items to return should be prepared to place books in a bag provided by the delivering Librarian. Librarians will not directly handle returned items. Anyone can return items for the patron by placing the items in the Library’s book drops.
  • No, there is no charge for this service.
  • MBTS Public Library cardholders do not receive late fees for overdue materials.
  • Replacement fees are charged for lost or damaged items.
