This poetry contest is open for ages eight to adult who is a member of Manchester-by-the-Sea-Public Library. Selected poets will read their winning poems at a special poetry reading and reception on April 10th from 5:30-7 pm. Winners will be pulled from the following age categories: 8-12, 13-17, 18-adult.

Guidelines:
• Poem must be an original work and may not be copied from any book or other source. Plagiarized poems will be disqualified.
• Poem may not exceed 25 lines.
• Poem must be appropriate for a general audience.
• Poem may be in any poetic style.
• One entry per person.
• Entries must be received by Friday, March 29th by 5:00 pm. Entries will not be returned. Winners will be notified by April 5th.


Poem will be judged on: creativity and poetic elements (such as metaphor, simile, rhythm, rhyme, imagery, etc.).
