Early Childhood Partners CFCE’s Seaside Saturdays 

Saturday, February 10 at 10:00—11:00AM 

Please join us for a SUPERHERO-THEMED story time and craft on Saturday, February 10th from 10-11! This program is designed for children ages 0-6 and their adult and is presented by Early Childhood Partners CFCE. 

After School Lego Club 

Wednesday, February 21 at 3:00—4:45PM 

Drop-in and build with Legos! No pressure, just fun. Join us every third Wednesday of the month from 3-4:45. This program is for grades 2 and up. Check out more vacation week programming at manchesterpl.org/events. 

*Pajama Storytime

Chocolate Olympics! 

Tuesday, February 20 at 4:00—5:30PM 

Oreo stacking!  M&M-themed relay races!  Hershey’s Kiss unwrapping — with oven mitts!  Are you ready for the Chocolate Olympics?  We might have to wait two long years ’til the Winter Games in Milan, but whatevs — we’ve got chocolate!!! *Graphic Novel Club

Join the graphic novel club! We meet once a month from January to June. Explore new and new-to-you graphic novels with friends, snacks and activities! We will be discussing “Ghost Book” by Remy Lai. Ask at the front desk for your copy now! This program is for grades 4-7, and registration is required for each monthly meeting.

*Cookbook Club: “Black Food” 

Friday, February 9 at 4:00—4:45PM 

The Cookbook Club meets once a month to share recipes from a new cookbook off our library shelves. February’s pick is “Black Food: Stories, Art & Recipes from Across the African Diaspora” edited by Bryant Terry  with photographs by Oriana Koren. 

About the Book: “A beautiful, rich, and groundbreaking book exploring Black foodways within America and around the world, curated by food activist and author of ‘Vegetable Kingdom’ Bryant Terry”– Catalog 

Register for any recipe from the cookbook. We will email you a recipe and/or put a cookbook on hold for you. Please register so we know how much cutlery to have on hand. Email mwillwerth@manchesterpl.org with any questions. 

*Art Across Asia: Lunar New Year (Virtual)

Welcome in the lunar new year by learning about the traditions and symbolism which enrich this celebration each year on Zoom. Visit the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco virtually.  

This program is made possible through a partnership with the Chelmsford Public Library and other MA libraries. 

Made by Hand: Watercolor Victorian Puzzle Purse 

Tuesday, February 13 at 5:30—6:30PM 

Join us in the Reference Room every month for a new adult craft activity. This month we are meeting on Galentine’s Day and will be using stamps and watercolors to create a puzzle purse. The puzzle purse is an origami card that reveals a new picture as it is unfolded. No registration or experience needed. Come enjoy some tea and crafting with your community. 

*MBTS Cultural Council Presents: Dr Roberts, Former President of Salem Hospital 

Thursday, February 15 at 5:30—6:30PM 

The Manchester-by-the-Sea Cultural Council in partnership with the MBTS Public Library is excited to host a distinguished speakers lecture series this winter and spring. For our 2nd session we will be hosting Dr. David J. Roberts MD, former president of Salem Hospital who will be speaking about the impact of food and shelter insecurity. 

In 2023 a new main entrance and lobby to Salem Hospital was dedicated to Dr. David J. Roberts MD. Dr. Roberts is currently SVP of Operations Community Division Mass General Brigham with operational responsibilities for all 6 Community Hospitals in the Mass General Brigham system and has spent 30 years as an interventional cardiologist. 

The Manchester Cultural Council is a community initiative in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council working to elevate our rich cultural life in Manchester-By-The-Sea.  

Registrations are required for this event as space is limited. We will move locations if registrations exceed capacity, and attendees will be notified via the email or phone number provided, so please register even if the event is full and please call us to cancel your registration if you are unable to attend.

*Haunted Happenings with Jeff DePaoli: Haunted Overload (Virtual) 

Thursday, February 15 at 6:30—7:30PM 

Haunted Overload is simply one of the most creative and unique haunted attractions in New England, located on the DeMeritt Hill Farm in Lee NH. The authentic farm location provides the perfect backdrop for the hundreds of lighted pumpkins and movie quality sets during Halloween. The haunt is changed and expanded each year to give the patron something new and exciting to experience. Join set builder and roaming actor, Nicole Tracchia, and Jeff DePaoli, Host of “That Halloween Podcast”, as they talk all about this unique haunted experience right in our backyard! 

This session will be recorded and all registrants will receive the video link soon after the program.
