    Movie Night ~ Phantom Thread

    April Movie Night
    The Library will be showing a film on Friday, April 27th at 5:30 PM that is set in 1950’s London within the high-stakes world of fashion and haute couture. Daniel Day Lewis portrays a renowned dressmaker who lives a wealthy and fastidious life that becomes unexpectedly disrupted by a young and strong-willed woman who becomes his muse and lover. His control over his life gradually slips away as he finds himself torn between his carefully tailored existence and the woman he loves. This movie stars Daniel-Day Lewis, Vicky Krieps, and Lesley Manville. Bring your own drink, the Library will provide popcorn. This movie is rated R and anyone under 17 must have a parent or guardian fill out a permission slip available at the Library's circulation desk.

    Regular library hours are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 AM to 8 PM, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 PM to 8 PM, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 AM to 5 PM.

    Join our circle of music, movement and simple stories with Ms.Carol for our youngest library users and their caregivers (suggested for birth through age 3).

    Mother's Day Gift-Making Workshop

    Join us at the library for a Mother's Day Gift-Making Workshop, Wednesday, May 2nd @ 12 PM.

    It's MERSD Early Release Day, and we will make beautiful gifts and cards for your favorite mom. She'll love her new jewelry!

    Grades 6-12 welcome. Only while supplies last so don't be late.

    Friends of the Library Annual Meeting

    Friends of the Library Annual Meeting
    On Wednesday, May 2nd the library will close at 6PM and at 6:30 PM the Friends of the Library will hold their annual meeting at the Manchester Historical Museum. The public is welcome to attend to hear about the full list of services and contributions the Friends give to the library, as well as how to join and become a Friend. After a short business meeting at 7:00 PM the Friends will welcome local guest speaker Laura Harrington who is the author of “Alice Bliss”, a Boston Globe bestseller, and her newest novel “A Catalog of Birds”. Laura is an award winning playwright, lyricist and librettist. She won the 2012 Massachusetts book award in Fiction. Refreshments will be served.
