September’s Director’s Note
Hello Library Friends!
September is Library Card Signup Month! It’s a great time to rediscover all the library has to offer, and make sure everyone in your household has a library card. If you’ve misplaced your card, come in for a free replacement in September.

After a summer full of fun (we saw lots of you at our Small, but Mighty Circus and the Animal Craze Petting Zoo), it was a quieter end of August. If you missed out on those fun programs, check out our online calendar to see what this month has to offer. Coming up on September 8, join us for a fun, interactive theater experience with Lizzie Borden and the 40 Whacks with the The Delvena Theatre Company. The performance includes a mock trial that invites the audience to participate by questioning Lizzie and deciding her guilt or innocence. Did she or didn’t she? You be the judge! See details here, and don’t miss it!
This summer we phased out our CD music collection as fewer and fewer of you were borrowing music CDs. If you’re like most folks these days, you’re getting your music through some kind of streaming service. Did you know that the Library offers a free music streaming service? Freegal provides streaming access to an enormous catalog of music (including the entire Sony catalog), and you can download up to five songs per month to keep. Build up your digital music collection, make your own playlists, and share them, too! Just head over to our website to get signed up with your library card.
Gamers will be excited to know that we now have a circulating collection of Switch 2 games. If you have a Switch 2 at home (or a Switch-most games are compatible), you can check out games just like you check out books.
See you at the library this month!
Cheers!
Cynthia Gemmell, Library Director
