November’s Director’s Note

As we usher in the cool, blustery days of November, it seems a good time to remind everyone about some of the wonderful library resources you may not be aware of. First off, we have lots of databases and learning platforms to access both in-library and at-home. I’ll mention just a couple today:

For those of you who may be thinking about market volatility and your own financial future, you may want to check out the Morningstar Investing Center. From the Investing Classroom, with courses on everything from stocks to ETFs to retirement, to up-to-the minute information on global financial markets, the library provides free access (here and at home) with only your library card.

If you are looking for a more creative and relaxing outlet, why not try out Creativebug which gives you access to all kinds of how-to videos on crafting. There are classes in sewing, needlework, paper crafts and more without any paywall to block access. Look for new projects, inspiration for a daily creative practice and even live events you can tune in to from the comfort of your couch.

These are only two of the resources available to library cardholders. Why not come in and explore all we have to offer! And if you prefer to learn in person, check out our online calendar for more options like our new Beginning French classes for adults starting on November 1. Is a trip to Paris in your future? Now is the perfect time to put those language skills to the test!

Hope to see you at the library soon!
