Holiday Hours

The library will close 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 24 and will be closed Wednesday, December 25. The library will be reopen Thursday, December 26 at 10 AM. 

The library will close 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31 and will be closed Wednesday, January 1. The library will be reopen in the New Year, Thursday, January 2 at 10 AM. 

Many of the library’s virtual resources are available 24/7 from our website, manchesterpl.org/resources but may require a library card.

STEM Club

Thursday, December 26 at 4:00—5:00 PM

Have some fun and learn a little science too at STEM Club! This group meets every third Thursday from 4-5 and is for grades 4-6. Register online or call 978-526-7711. 

Winter Storytimes

Join Miss Audrey for Fall and Winter Storytime every Wednesday at 10:30! This program is for ages 0-3.

Knit Together

Hoping to make some gifts for the holidays? Begin a new project or finish one you’ve already started. Enjoy tea, cookies and company. 

New to knitting? Start a simple project with needles and yarn provided by the library. Join us by the fireplace and let’s knit together! 

De-Stress Holiday Chair Massage

Saturday, December 14 at 10:00AM—1:00PM

Take 10 minutes to de-stress and enjoy a chair message with local, licensed massage therapist, Matt Kurdt. Register for the hour when you can attend either 10AM, 11AM or 12PM. Only sign up for 1 session. We will email you the exact time of your session with in that hour. This event is for adults only, 18 and over. Wear comfortable clothing. We will have these sessions in a tucked away corner of the library but you will not be in a private room due to space constraints.

Haunted Experiences: Reg. Director at 13th Floor Entertainment Group (Virtual)

Join us for this Zoom interview with Amy Hollaman, Regional Director at Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group, and Jeff DePaoli, host of “That Halloween Podcast”, as they talk all about the Thirteenth Floor Holiday Haunts with an emphasis on “Krampus: The Fright Before Christmas” in Denver.

Diversity Matters: “We Refuse To Forget”

December’s Diversity Matters book group’s pick is “We Refuse to Forget: A True Story of Black Creeks, American Identity, and Power” by Caleb Gayle. Please join wherever you are in your reading. NEW MONTHLY SERIES

Create/Make for Adults: Felt Flowers

Saturday, December 21 at 2:00—3:30 PM .

This month we will craft felt flowers to use on garlands, gifts and wreaths. We’ll explore different mediums and projects each month. Please register so we can plan for adequate materials. Mystery Book Group: “The Thursday Murder Club”

The Manchester Mystery Book Group meets on the last Friday of the month at 10:30AM. This December we are reading “The Thursday Murder Club” by Richard Osman. This meeting will occur in person at the library and over Zoom. Email mwillwerth@manchesterpl.org if you have any questions.

NEW IN JANUARY

Mindfulness Meditation Evening Sessions

Tuesdays at 5:00—6:00 PM

Evening meditation happens weekly at 5PM, except for the 3rd Tuesday of the month. This event takes place in the meeting room at the First Parish Church Meeting Room, behind Santander Bank through the FPC office door and take a left. There is also a session at 11AM, every Tuesday as well. You are welcome to attend both or one or the other. Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome. There will be guided meditation, some silence, and discussion.
