VIRTUAL EVENT: Maureen Johnson (Nine Liars) in Conversation with Jennifer Lynn Barnes (Inheritiance Games series)

Enjoy a special evening with two of the country’s top young adult authors as Maureen Johnson (Nine Liars) is interviewed by Jennifer Lynn Barnes (The Final Gambit), in this ZOOM webinar. Register on the library website calendar, January 4. Registrants will receive a link to access the Zoom Meeting via email. This event will interest teens and adults alike.
Comics-Making Workshop
Four Fridays 4-5:30PM, January 13th-February 3rd
Be the star of your own comic! Join Boston-based author/illustrator Jonathan Todd (the upcoming Scholastic graphic novel “Timid,” the online YA graphic memoir “Cecil Hall”) for a four-week workshop covering all the fundamentals of creating autobiographical comics, from writing to drawing to editing. Sessions build on one another so registration includes all 4 weeks. Registration is limited to 20 participants, and art supplies are included. News & Events for Adults
Tai Chi at the Community Center
Every Wednesday From 9:45-10:45 AM
Manchester local Susan Halpern will continue her weekly Tai Chi class for ages 18 and older. The class will focus on the Sun style which employs a more upright stance with small arm movements and short steps. The forms demand attention and stimulate good balance, attention, and stress reduction. Attendees must complete a Safety Release Registration Form before joining. When the weather is good the class will be held on the Manchester Library’s front side lawn. In the event of inclement weather, the class will move to the Manchester Community Center.
Mystery Book Group
Friday, December 30th at 10:30AM
The Manchester Mystery Book Group meets on the last Friday of the month at 10:30 AM. December’s meeting will occur in the library’s reading room and over Zoom. Email mwillwerth@manchesterpl.org with any questions or to get connected with the group. We will discuss “The Long Call” by Ann Cleeves. Physical copies will be available at the circulation desk in late November or you can check out a digital audiobook and ebook through the Libby app. Use your MBTS library card to sign up for Libby for free. New members are always welcome.
