Richard J. Roberts , NE Biolabs

On Monday, January 4, 2016 at 6:30 PM Richard J. Roberts of New England Biolabs in Beverly will present a different view about GMOs from the one held by an Organic Farmer and proponent of GMO Right to Know, Ed Stockman. Mr. Stockman, co-founder of Massachusetts Right to Know GMO, recently spoke at the Library about GMOs and our food.

Dr. Roberts is a 1993 Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology or Medicine and has spoken frequently on the topic of GMOs and “argue (s) that by deliberately ignoring the science that underpins GMOs and painting horrific pictures of the dangers that might ensue, political motives are slowing the wide adoption of these technologies at the expense of the developing world”. There is much to think about, examine and debate in this topical issue.

We hope you will join us at the Library and learn more of the issues, impact, and ramifications of either side of the important GMO debate. Please call 978-526-2011 to speak with Sara Collins, Director, for more information.
