The Manchester Public Library relies on the help of reliable, enthusiastic, students to keep our summer of many programs and huge amounts of reading flowing. As a volunteen, you will make a difference. If you are a part of the team, you need to be someone we can count on: call or email with schedule changes, take the initiative in rescheduling any missed hours, volunteer to the best of your ability. In return, you will know you have made a difference in the experience of many children in town, the library is a better place because of you, and you will have gained valuable volunteer experience/community service hours needed for school. This is also useful when you seek out a paying job and many recommendations have been written on behalf of our student volunteens.

We expect at least 15 hours over the course of the summer and you must have finished 5th grade this spring to commit to volunteering at this level. Call (978) 526-2016, or email scollins at mvlc.org, with any questions.

Applications are available in the Children’s Room, Teen Zone, and front desk throughout May.  We will have an orientation meeting in early June and do initial scheduling at that point.
