This year Manchester Reads is all about baseball with Fenway 1912: The Birth of a Ballpark, a Championship Season, and Fenway’s Remarkable First Year by Glenn Stout. It is a behind-the-scenes tribute to Fenway Park’s origins and the ragtag Red Sox team that embarked on a journey to win the 1912 World Series. Stout shares the stories behind the park’s well known landmarks like the Green Monster and of the designers, builders, managers, and players who made Fenway’s first year unforgettable.
Throughout the month of March the Library will have a great selection of Adult, Young Adult and Juvenile programs about baseball and Fenway Park. Stop by to pick up an events calendar or go to our Manchester Reads page or Facebook for more information on these and other programs going on next month. There are still plenty of copies of Fenway, 1912 available at the circulation desk at the library. Stop by to pick one up!
