On Friday, February 23rd at 5:30 PM come see the biographical sports film loosely based on the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. One made a bet, the other made history.

When young tennis pro Billie Jean King is challenged to a nationally televised match against self-proclaimed male chauvinist and top men’s player Bobby Riggs after his tirade of taunting female tennis players, she reluctantly agrees when she realizes it could be a chance to push for more gender equality in the sport.

This movie stars Emma Stone, Steve Carell, and Sarah Silverman. Bring your own drink, the Library will provide popcorn. This movie is rated PG-13 and anyone under 13 must have a parent or guardian fill out a permission slip available at the Library’s circulation desk.
