    Nature Nick's Exotic Animals

    What do a kangaroo, a monkey, a flamingo, and an otter have in common? Thanks to the Friends of the Library, Nature Nick is bringing all of them plus more to the library for you to learn about and meet!

    Storytime on the Lawn

    Throughout the summer, every Wednesday at 10:30 AM Miss Kate and friends will read books on the lawn for half an hour! Children up to kindergarten age are welcome to sit outside and listen to some fabulous stories! If the weather is rainy, we'll read inside. Drop-ins are welcome.

    UPDATED: This program originally said it would run on Thursdays, but it has been moved to Friday mornings.

    Every Friday at 10:15 AM from July 8 until August 5, children ages 3 to 8 can explore different activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) with Susie Lord of Early Childhood Partners! Come to all the sessions or come when you’re able! Please register ahead of time with Miss Kate at 978-26-2016 or kstadt@manchesterpl.org.

    Lego Build-A-Thon

    Every week, there's a different Lego building challenge. Kids can work in teams or alone to complete the challenge and then they can put their creations on display until the next week!

    Drop-ins welcome! Legos will be portioned into Challenge Sets so no one can use too many but it's first come, first served with the sets. Recommended for kids in grades 1 to 5.

    Poets of Summer

    Calling all Poets (there is a poet within everyone!) Come join us at the Manchester Public Library for Poets of Summer Program in July and August to explore your own poet’s voice, as well as enjoy the poetry and works of others. On four Wednesday mornings (July 13, 27th; August 10th and 24th) from 10:30AM – 12:00, we will enjoy reading and writing poetry, exploring new voices of today as well as old favorites, learn different writing styles and glimpse into the world of publishing one’s own poetry. Poets of Summer, come one, come all and gather!

    Thanks to the Friends of the Library, kids of all ages are invited to see the One-Man Circus-in-a-Suitcase! An entire circus emerges from from Kevin O’Keefe’s suitcase.     Touch a Truck

    Touch a Truck is back! From 5 to 6:30, come touch, climb inside, and even honk the horns of the real vehicles our Fire Department, Department of Public Works, and Police Departments use in Manchester-by-the-Sea! Plus there will be wheels and fuel (cookies and drinks). Kids of all ages are welcome! No need to register.

    Learn to perform magic from Throckmorton, a wizard trying to earn himself a teaching position at Hogwarts. You will learn your very own magic tricks, with all the props needed to master them.
