Summer Reading Program 2017

What Is It?

The theme for this year’s Summer Reading Theme is “Build a Better World!” We’ll be focusing on books and activities that have to do with finding your individual passion and using it to transform the world around you for the better! Once you sign up, you can begin to count minutes read. As you read, you earn prizes! In addition, you can come to all sorts of amazing programs.

When Is It?

Summer Reading 2017 lasts from June 19 to August 4. Starting June 19, you can sign up for the program and start to tally your minutes read to gain prizes. The program officially ends on August 4; however you can claim prizes up until August 11!

Who Can Participate?

Any child up to 5th grade, including pre-readers (reading with help is still reading)! Kids entering 6th grade get a bonus – they can participate in the Children’s Summer Reading Program AND the Teen Summer Reading Program!

What Can You Read?

You can read anything you want! I have some suggested books for different reading levels that fit the theme, but at the end of the day, whatever you like to read works. Magazines, newspapers, graphic novels, audiobooks – it’s all reading!
