The children’s collection includes books, magazines, audiobooks, musical CD’s, DVDs, and CD-ROMs. Children’s materials circulate for 3 weeks and may be renewed two times if the title is not on request. (DVDs circulate for 1 week, no renewal.) Children’s books range in age from infants through middle school.
The Library has a collection of early readers, chapter books for children just learning to read. Look for the red dot on the spine label.
The parent’s shelf is a small collection of books which facilitates parental guidance in encouraging popular reading and library use, allows the parental support of the formal and informal educational endeavors of their children, and provides community information related to childhood services and activities. Look for the green dot on the spines of the books. (The newer books are on display in the Children’s Room; the rest are interfiled in the adult non-fiction stacks.)
A to Z the World is the world’s most comprehensive country-by-country resource for learning about culture and customs worldwide. AtoZ the World is comprised of 175 Country Guides of 107 topics each. No other single resource covers so many topics, so well, for so many countries. For Manchester residents, use your library card number to log in.
FactCite is a fully searchable online information resource brought to you by The Lincoln Library Press. It enables student researchers and teachers to easily navigate through a vast amount of information. Student researchers can search or browse the vast selection of textual information as well as make use of other helpful features, such as printable full-color and outline illustrations and maps. Bonus material in our Greek & Roman section enhances comprehension with features such as a gods and heroes equivalency chart, a Greek alphabet chart, and classroom plays.
