It is hard to find a town resource more highly treasured than our beautiful Public Library, designed by Charles F. McKim. Of the myriad services it has provided over its 125 year history, few pull harder at our collective heart strings than its Children Room and Programs.
The 125th Campaign for the Children’s Room was born out of an urgent need to remedy many years of patchwork maintenance on a leaky roof. The roof was replaced in 2011, and now we are set to completely renovate the Children’s Room and provide a handicapped access with an external book drop at the Church Street entrance.
The cost of the renovation is expected to be approximately $200,000. Currently, we only have $75,000 set aside for capital improvements. We need to raise the additional $125,000. We hope you will help.
