BOSTON MARATHON: HISTORY BY THE MILE WITH PAUL CLERICI

This year’s Manchester Community Reads events continue on Thursday, March 29th at 6:30 PM with a visit from author, journalist, and runner Paul C. Clerici.
Paul will discuss the history of the Boston Marathon and explore the stories behind notable marathon landmarks, statues, and mile markers throughout the course. He will cover the cities and towns along the 26.2 miles between Hopkinton to Boylston Street, and reveal the route’s historic moments from the first marathon in 1897 to the naming of Heartbreak Hill and the incorporation of women runners.
Paul C. Clerici is a freelance journalist, writer, photographer and former newspaper editor and sports editor. A dedicated runner, Clerici has competed in the Boston Marathon more than 20 years in a row.
