Children's Room Activities

January 2008
 

The Homework Center reopens Monday, Jan. 8. Homework Center schedule is Monday-Thursday, 3-5 PM, following Memorial School calendar. A computer workstation is reserved for students through 12th grade. Printing is free. Blank compact discs are available to save your work. Volunteers are on hand for advice.
 


Homework Center coaching is a wonderful opportunity for adults with a little free time or students needing community service. Call Michael O'Connor, Assistant Director for more information. 978-526-2017.

 

January is Gaming Month at the Library

We will be featuring games of all kinds for all ages, board games, card games, video games, for students through senior citizens. Choose an activity for your family.

An earful of stories and an eyeful of ASL with deaf storyteller Karen Glickman and hearing teller/interpreter Tony Toledo. Meet Karen's hearing dog and learn about his responsibilities. Sponsored by the Hooper Grant to the Children's Room.

T@L?K! is the Teen Advisory Board, open to students ages 12-18. T@L?K! members are participating with the Teens N' Tweens grant, selecting materials, programs, and furnishings for the teen community in Manchester. New members are welcome. Cub Scouts & Seniors Cribbage Club
January 16, 2008, 3:30 PM

The Council on Aging and the Cub Scouts are getting together to teach a new generation how to play a classic game, Cribbage. The Club will meet alternating Wednesdays through March.

Dance Revolution, Guitar Hero, and more...
January 22, 5:30-8 PM

Teens in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in a Video Game Night featuring Dance, Dance Revolution, the video game you can dance to, Guitar Hero, a game to rock out to, and more.
Registration begins Jan. 2. To add your name to the registration list and pick up a permission slip and fact sheet, please visit the Library!
The first 24 players to return a signed permission slip will be eligible to participate.
Note: DDR is a safe and fun game; however, participants play this game at their own risk. The Library cannot be responsible for participants' health or fitness.
